Bangsamoro Attorney Generals Office, MIPA facilitates Community Legal Service Kaalamang Legal Para sa MakaBAGOng Bangsamoro

COTABATO CITY (June 4, 2023) — The Bangsamoro Attorney Generals Office in partnership with Ministry of Indigenous Peoples Affairs (MIPA) of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has facilitated Community Legal Service Kaalamang Legal Para sa MakaBAGOng Bangsamoro held in Upi Municipal Gymnasium, Upi, Maguindanao del Norte.

MIPA said in their post on social media that the activity aims to promote the rights of the women and children and more than 80 women participated in the activity.

The Resource persons on the activity are Atty. Jibriel S. Binasing, Attorney III of Ministry of Indigenous People’s Affairs and discussed the REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11596 — An Act Prohibiting the Practice of Child Marriage and Imposing Penalties for Violations Thereof; Jean P. Bacas, Office of the Local Civil Registrar of Upi, lectured about the Birth Registration and Atty. Mona B. Diragen, Attorney IV of MIPA lectured REPUBLIC ACT No.: 9262 — An Act Defining Violence Against Women and Their Children, Providing for Protective Measures for Victims, Prescribing Penalties Therefore, and for other purpose.

During the program, MIPA extended its service by accommodating clients who needs Accreditation of Tribal Marriage (ATM) and Certificate of Tribal Membership (CTM).

MIPA Minister Melanio U. Ulama gave his message of support to the said program.
