COTABATO CITY (May 23, 2024) — In a sustained effort to support victims of Severe Tropical Storm (STS) Paeng, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) has distributed Emergency Shelter Assistance (ESA) to 466 affected families across 13 barangays in Datu Blah Sinsuat. The aid was disbursed from May 7-9 and 14-15, 2024.

The ESA program provided PhP 30,000 each to 255 families whose houses were destroyed. Additionally, 211 families with severely damaged homes received PhP 20,000 each.

This initiative aims to extend shelter assistance to vulnerable groups and communities, particularly internally displaced persons in the Bangsamoro region, affected by both human-induced and natural disasters.

The MSSD continues to play a crucial role in supporting these communities in their recovery efforts. (Hasna U. Bacol, BMN/BangsamoroToday)
