Bangsamoro READi’s DRRM Officer Wins Gold at International Jiu-Jitsu Championship
COTABATO CITY (May 21, 2024) — Mohannad Samanodi Biruar, an LDRRMO II of the Emergency Operations Division of Bangsamoro READi, showcased his exceptional skills at the Copa de Malaysia 2024 Jiu Jitsu Open Championship held in Shah Alam, Malaysia on May 18-19. Biruar secured two gold medals in the Gi and No Gi Master 1 category-purple belt, and two silver medals in the Gi and No Gi Absolute Category-purple belt.
Biruar was part of a contingent of BARMM Government employees and athletes representing the Triple-A Boss Academy and the Bangsamoro Jiu-Jitsu Team. The team collectively achieved an impressive haul of 5 golds, 7 silvers, and 9 bronzes, with strong support from the Bangsamoro Sports Commission, BARMM government officials, and various private organizations.
The Bangsamoro READi is celebrating this significant achievement, particularly proud of Biruar’s success. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Biruar leads Bangsamoro READi’s response teams, emphasizing the importance of fitness and physical upkeep in their daily routines.
