COTABATO CITY (December 20, 2023) — In an effort to reach out Bangsamoro communities outside the core territory, Miracle Five MP + 1 held a Community dialogue and food packs distribution in Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay on Monday, December 18, 2023.
The activity was spearheaded by MP Suwaib “Commander Gordon” Oranon as Chairperson with his Vice Chairperson MP Mohammad Kelie U. Antao and other members of parliament namely MP Bassir Utto, MP Tawakal Midtimbang, MP Mudjib Abu, and MP Mosber Alauddin.
The initiative, supported by Office of Chief Minster of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Mindanao (BARMM) through Project Tabang, was aimed at sustaining the connection of the Bangsamoro government to the people from outside the autonomous region.
The office of the local executive Marcelo M. Baquial, Municipal Mayor of Malangas, hosted the event at Dampa Function Hall and Restaurant in Malangas.
The Members of Parliament expressed their commitment to the LGU and to the more than 3,000 crowd coming from various committees of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).
MP Antao conveyed that in his 2024 budget allocation, he included funding one (1) unit covered court, an infrastructure project in Malangas which is part of the Bangsamoro Community outside the core territory.
“Sa aking 2024 budget allocation under TDIF ay magbibigay ako ng isang covered court para dito sa bayan ng Malangas,” he said.
He also encouraged his family to continue supporting his endeavour for peace in development. His wife, Hajjab Mariam Antao, provided the transportation for the one thousand five hundred (1,500 ) sacks of rice (25 kilos) and other goods for the beneficiaries in outside core territory using her Wing Van vehicle free of charge.
His son, Wali Antao, a municipal councilor of Libungan, Cotabato Province, personally drove the vehicle loaded with goods while his daughter, Sittie Antao, a board member of the Province of Cotabato, sponsored the meals of the MP Teams.
MP Oranon also expressed to provide a covered court outside the BARMM core territory for Zamboanga City.
“Mula sa aking opisina magbibigay ako ng covered court para sa mga taga-Zamboanga City para maisama kayo sa development bilang parte ng outside territory,” said MP Oranon.
He encouraged his colleagues, the 5 Miracle + 1, to give their commitment in terms of projects under their TDIF.
