We strongly condemn in the highest possible term the reprehensible act perpetrated during the bombing incident at Dimaporo Gymnasium, Mindanao State University (MSU), Marawi City, on December 3, 2023.
This heinous act claimed the lives of
(4) innocent souls while leaving dozens injured. Such inhuman and barbaric actions have no place in our society, particularly as peace negotiators, peace advocate groups, and international peace mediators have dedicated decades to resolving the armed conflict in Mindanao, aiming to bring about lasting peace, justice, and progress.
As advocates for peace, we unequivocally demand immediate justice for the victims of this recent violent and barbaric incident against the innocent churchgoers and the people of Marawi City.
We stand in solidarity with the families of the bombing victims and all peace-loving citizens in our country, urging swift punishment for the perpetrators to prevent any further condemnable violent acts.
Finally, we extend our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the grieving families, friends, and relatives of the victims. It is with deep regret and sorrow that we acknowledge the impact of this horrendous act on our college students individuals full of hope and potential for a brighter future that could contribute to the prosperity of our society.
