COTABATO CITY (November 27, 2023) — As part of the Bangsamoro government continued services to the community, BARMM Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim led the Kapayapaan sa Pamayanan (KAPYANAN) program turnover of core shelters equipped with solar-powered lights and water systems to beneficiaries from three municipalities in the province of Maguindanao del Norte on Wednesday, November 13.

The housing units comprised 50 each from Barangay Tuka, Sultan Mastura, Barangay Raguisi, Sultan Kudarat, and Barangay G.T. Biruar, Parang, Maguindanao del Norte.

“Nyaba e nailay tanu a kailangan nu madakel a taw [na] walay (Ito ang ating nakita na kailangan ng mga Tao ay bahay). Nyaba e kaped kanu primary program tanu a social services (Ito’y kabahagi ng primary program natin na social services). Bunga ito ng paghihirap ng Bangsamoro, we have a Bangsamoro Government, [and] now we are internationally recognized,” Chief Minister Ebrahim said.

During the turnover ceremony, Project Manager Engr. Abdullah Sema also expressed his gratitude for the effort to improve the living conditions of Bangsamoro constituents, particularly indigent members of poverty-stricken groups across various barangays in BARMM.

“These people who now have houses truly had none. Our gratitude to them (BARMM) is beyond measure,” Sema stressed.

Also attended the ceremony were KAPYANAN Project Manager Engr. Mohammad K. Abdullah, Sultan Mastura Mayor Zulficar Ali H. Panda, and officials from the Bangsamoro Government, Local Government Units, and Barangay Local Government Units who were spearheaded the said ceremony.

The KAPYANAN program targets the poorest of the poor, internally displaced persons, families of former combatants, indigenous people, and disadvantaged families as qualified beneficiaries of the program. It stands as a flagship initiative of the Office of the Chief Minister (OCM), dedicated to serving Bangsamoro communities by providing access to decent and dignified housing units with facilities.
