MP Antao helps facilitate peaceful settlement of Clan feud in Midsayap SGA-BARMM
COTABATO CITY (August 16, 2023) – Family feud between Ben “Johnson” Talalisen and Jonny Mangadta agreed to settle their conflict on a peaceful settlement with the assistance from the Office of Member of Parliament Mohammad Kelie U. Antao and his colleagues in the parliament, BARMM Ministry of Public Order and Safety, Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (CCCH), MILF-BIAF Commanders, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Local Government Units (LGU), and MILF Political Committee held at Brgy. Tugal, Midsayap in Special Geographic Area of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) on Sunday, August 13, 2023.
The settlement and reconciliation processes are done under the PASAD Program (People’s Alternative System in Addressing Dispute) of MP Antao, one of his major initiatives for peace and security concerns in the SGA with a theme: A Path for Unity and Brotherhood to Attain Progress in the Community.
MP Antao emphasized that searching for peace and security is an act of Moral Governance.
“The living condition of people can only be called at peace when they have a healthy environment at home. The absence of war or any armed conflict in the residence of Bangsamoro signifies that peace and development will arise to their community,” he said.
Talalisen and Mangadta families pledged their sincerity of ending their conflict through “Mubayyah” – an oath to the ‘Oneness of Allah,’ which showed that they are now reconciled and promised to follow the agreement they had agreed stipulated in the signed document.
The program ended with strong commitment of peace and solidarity through inking of peace covenant between and among members of the both clans, witnessed by Member of Bangsamoro Parliament, MILF, AFP, LGU, Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) representative, SGADA Administrator Butch Malang, and the community.
