LBO Hosts Political and Religious Discourse on Al-Aqsa and Palestine

COTABATO CITY (July 14, 2025) — The League of Bangsamoro Organizations (LBO) hosted a political and religious discourse on Al-Aqsa and Palestine, focusing on the historical and ongoing struggles faced by the Palestinian people. This event took place in Cotabato City on Saturday.
The session featured impactful reflections from key LBO officers who recently attended international solidarity gatherings for Gaza in Turkey and Indonesia, representing the Bangsamoro of the Philippines.
The LBO continues to strengthen partnerships with international humanitarian organizations that advocate for empathy and solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters in Gaza. During the discourse, participants offered thoughtful and actionable suggestions for both short-term and long-term initiatives aimed at sustaining and amplifying support for the Palestinian cause.
Ms. Lobna S. Hamiadan, Co-founder and President of Handala Project PH, delivered an inspiring presentation titled “Palestine and Al-Aqsa: Our Faith, Our Amanah, Our Responsibility.” Mr. Ahmad Attawna, the Palestinian Youth Focal Point of the Global Coalition for Al-Aqsa and Palestine, also provided valuable insights and firsthand accounts of the current conditions in Gaza.
MP Abdulbasit R. Benito, a vocal supporter of the cause, expressed his solidarity and commended the LBO’s efforts in connecting Bangsamoro voices with global humanitarian movements. His message emphasized the shared responsibility of Muslim communities to uphold the dignity and rights of Palestinians.
Both young leaders, dedicated advocates for Palestine, are now collaborating closely with the LBO to explore further partnerships and future initiatives. LBO President Hashim Mantikayan reiterated the importance of ongoing collections of sadaqah and the implementation of other impactful initiatives as part of the organization’s unwavering commitment to long-term support for the Palestinian people.
