HWPL Celebrates 12th Founding Anniversary Worldwide

COTABATO CITY (May 31, 2025) — The international peace NGO Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) celebrated its 12th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace by uniting peace advocates, educators, and youth through events promoting global unity and civic participation in peacebuilding.
This year’s celebration took place in 94 locations across 61 countries, emphasizing the shared responsibility for sustainable peace. The movement began on May 25, 2013, when HWPL Chairman Lee Man-hee proclaimed the Declaration of World Peace in Seoul.
Highlights included the Asia Peace Forum 2025, titled “Crash Landing on You: Understanding the South and North Korea Divide,” which featured leaders discussing the impact of war and the role of youth in peacebuilding. Keynote speakers included Mr. Yoo Byeong-Chu and Ms. Hyeju Park.
In Metro Manila, a Poster Making Contest attracted 88 young artists from the Philippines and Japan, culminating in the formation of the Peace in Arts and Culture Group, dedicated to promoting peace through creative expression.
HWPL, with special consultative status under UN ECOSOC, promotes peace through international law and grassroots education. “This movement is not just a celebration; it is a call to action,” said Chairman Lee.
The municipality of Hinigaran also participated with an event titled “Bunghay Reporma: Thanksgiving and Peace Declaration,” showcasing local commitment to peace and unity as part of the global movement for harmony and progress. (PR, BMN/BangsamoroToday)
