LBO Launches “Piso for Food in Gaza” Fund Drive in Response to Escalating Casualties

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (April 9, 2025) — The League of Bangsamoro Organizations (LBO) has launched the “Piso for Food in Gaza” campaign to provide essential food and medical aid to the people of Gaza, who continue to suffer from the ongoing conflict. This campaign has become especially urgent as casualty numbers continue to rise.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, as reported by Al Jazeera, over 50,000 Palestinians have been killed since the war began on October 7, 2023. The toll on human life is staggering, with countless others injured and many more in dire need of medical assistance. On the Israeli side, approximately 1,200 people have lost their lives since the conflict erupted.
In response to the ongoing crisis, the LBO is urging individuals and peace advocates to support the fund drive. Even small donations can make a significant difference by providing critical food and medical supplies to those in need.
“Through the ‘Piso for Food in Gaza’ campaign, we aim to bring immediate relief to those enduring hunger and medical deprivation,” said an LBO representative. “This campaign represents our shared responsibility and compassion for those suffering in Gaza.”
Donations can be made through designated collection points or digital platforms, with a special focus on the LBO’s Facebook page for ease of contribution. The LBO ensures full transparency, channeling all funds directly to trusted humanitarian organizations operating within Gaza.
Organizers emphasized that the initiative is not only about delivering aid but also about expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza. Religious and community leaders have underscored that helping those in need during such crises is both a moral and spiritual duty.
By participating in the “Piso for Food in Gaza” campaign, LBO encourages donors to join a global movement that aims to alleviate suffering and uphold human dignity amid the ongoing conflict. (Gandhi C. Kinjiyo, BMN/BangsamoroToday)
