MSSD-BARMM Honors Top 10 Outstanding Field Social Workers for 2024

COTABATO CITY (March 20, 2025) — In a significant step to recognize the dedication of social welfare workers, the Ministry of Social Services and Development of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MSSD-BARMM) officially launched its annual search for the Top 10 Outstanding Field Social Workers of 2024. The event aims to spotlight individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to serving marginalized communities in the region.

The selected MSSD awardees for 2024, who have demonstrated exemplary performance in the field, are:

Laila Kadir – Maguindanao del Norte
Baimona Dalgan – BARMM Special Geographic Area
Alpha Jyan Aras – BARMM Special Geographic Area
Nina Jawhara Usman-Abubakar – Maguindanao del Sur
Farouk Romancap – Maguindanao del Sur
Shahani Mohamad – Maguindanao del Sur
Saada Jalis – Island Province of Sulu
Hanifah Habib – Lanao del Sur A
Noralina Oma – Lanao del Sur B
Muhammadnur Macalimpao – Lanao del Sur

Field social workers play an important role in bringing social services, especially in remote and underserved areas in the Bangsamoro region. Their work not only involves providing immediate assistance to those in need but also fostering long-term positive changes in communities through education, advocacy, and empowerment. These workers have been instrumental in overcoming challenges and addressing the social issues that affect the lives of many in the Bangsamoro region.
