Maguindanao del Norte Enhances Budget Efficiency with ePFMAT Orientation
COTABATO CITY (May 16, 2024) — The Province of Maguindanao del Norte, through its Provincial Budget Office (PBO), conducted a two-day orientation on May 9-10, 2024 at Acacia Hotel, Davao City, to improve budget operations and financial management efficiency. The event, titled “Provincial Orientation for ePFMAT Main Responsible Units,” aimed to foster a unified understanding of the Enhanced Public Financial Management Assessment Tool (PFMAT) and its electronic version among Local Government Units (LGUs).
The orientation centered on Local Budget Circular No. 147, otherwise known as “Adoption of the Enhanced Public Financial Management Assessment Tool (PFMAT) For Local Government Units (LGUS) and its Electronic Version”. This tool is designed to assess financial management practices, generate comprehensive results, and aid in formulating a Public Financial Management Improvement Plan (PFMIP).
The participants, including key provincial and municipal budget officers, received specific guidelines on implementing the PFMAT to ensure a consistent and effective approach to budget management across the province.
The event also featured an election of municipal budget officers, supervised by Department of Budget and Management Region XII Director Akmad J. Usman, CPA, CESO III. This election aimed to promote coordinated and efficient budget operations within Maguindanao del Norte.
