Midtimbang–Nando Administration Accelerates Infrastructure Projects Connecting Talayan and Datu Hoffer

COTABATO CITY (October 13, 2025) — The Provincial Government of Maguindanao del Sur, under the leadership of Governor Datu Ali Midtimbang and Vice Governor Ustadz Hisham Nando, continues to prioritize infrastructure development with its ongoing Land Preparation and Road Concreting Project connecting Talayan to Datu Hoffer. This major initiative is dubbed the “Road to Peace and Development.”

The project’s goal is to enhance mobility, improve access to markets, and promote peace and economic growth within the province. It is expected to open new opportunities for local farmers, Indigenous Peoples, settler communities, and Bangsamoro residents by facilitating the transport of goods from upland areas to market centers.

On Monday, Governor Midtimbang, Vice Governor Nando, along with representatives from the Provincial Engineering Office, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), and relevant Local Government Units (LGUs), conducted an on-site inspection of the project.

In an interview with a local radio station, Governor Midtimbang reported that approximately 12 kilometers of the planned 40-kilometer road from Talayan to Datu Hoffer have already been completed. He also confirmed that a similar road project is currently underway, connecting Talayan to South Upi.

“Once these road networks are completed, we will invite investors and entrepreneurs to help boost the local economy and create more livelihood opportunities for our people,” Governor Midtimbang stated in vernacular, translated into English.

The “Road to Peace and Development” initiative reflects the Provincial Government’s commitment to inclusive growth and long-term peacebuilding in Maguindanao del Sur, aiming to bridge communities and bring government services closer to the people. (BMN/BangsamoroToday)
