MP Benito Gains Support from Sultanate of Buayan Darussalam for Peace-building and Public Service Initiatives
COTABATO CITY (September 9, 2025) — The Sultanate of Buayan Darussalam, which boasts over 40,000 members nationwide, held a historic Royal Audience and Collaborative Engagement at the Citimall Conference Hall. The event expressed strong support for Member of Parliament Abdulbasit R. Benito.
Led by His Royal Highness Sultan Norodin Utto Camsa, the gathering brought together more than 60 representatives from allied Sultanates under the theme “Strengthening Ties of Sultanates: Traditional-Governance Synergy to Support Peace and Development.” Key messages highlighted the important role of traditional leadership in preserving peace, heritage, and unity.
MP Benito was honored as the Royal Guest and received a Plaque of Support and Appreciation for his commitment to public service and peace-building. He pledged to represent the concerns of the Sultanates in the Bangsamoro Parliament and to submit a privilege speech to the Chief Minister and leadership of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The gathering also featured a resolution of support for MP Benito, reinforcing the collaboration between traditional institutions and democratic governance to advance peace and development in the region. (BMN/BangsamoroToday)
