This initiative represents a significant investment aimed at enhancing local governance within the Bangsamoro Region.

During a ceremony at Marawi City’s Capitol Guest House, Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong Jr received the funds from MILG Minister MP Atty Sha Elijah B. Dumama-Alba.

This is the first release under this important infrastructure project funded through the General Appropriations Act of the Bangsamoro (GAAB) 2023.

The two-storey barangay halls will be serving as administrative activities centers, community engagement centers, and amenities for essential public services.

The new facilities will greatly enhance service delivery in critical areas such as health care provision, education, and social security. They would also provide locations for community gatherings and functions which will enhance civic spirit and social coherence among people.

Furthermore, the construction process will offer employment opportunities to residents of this area thus boosting the region’s economy further.

Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim, a key proponent of this initiative, seeks all-round growth to improve the life quality of everybody living in Bangsamoro. His administration is focused on constructing effective infrastructure projects that will spur growth and help local initiatives to succeed.

Governor Adiong expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the funding, highlighting its importance in strengthening local governance. “We are deeply thankful for this funding… This initiative will be very beneficial to our barangay officials with respect to their duties towards their constituents,” he said.

Minister Dumama-Alba reiterated the government’s commitment to the Bangsamoro community stressing that support would go beyond the construction phase.

“The assistance from the Bangsamoro government extends far beyond providing these structures. Rather we remain committed to ongoing development and betterment of the Bangsamoro community,” she stated. (Hasna U. Bacol, BMN/Bangsamoro Today)
