‘Uphold Unity, Teamwork and Discipline’: Chief Minister Ebrahim Tells Bangsamoro Athletes at BARMMAA Meet 2024

COTABATO CITY (May 12, 2024) –In a compelling address at the 2024 Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Athletic Association Meet (BARMMAA) Opening Ceremony, Bangsamoro Chief Minister Ebrahim underscored the importance of upholding the values of teamwork, unity, and discipline in shaping a progressive and inclusive Bangsamoro society.

Ebrahim emphasized the significance of the athletic platform in showcasing the talents and unity of Bangsamoro athletes from diverse backgrounds coming from the different provinces and cities of the Bangsamoro Region.

“Your presence today makes you all already winners in your respective fields of sports. The theme empowering sports for a stronger united Bangsamoro speaks volumes about our goal for an inclusive and progressive Bangsamoro, where different talents and skills are celebrated all across the region and where we provide an avenue for our young people to realize their fullest potential as sports enthusiasts,” said Chief Minister Ebrahim.

“I trust that all student-athletes are going to utilize this platform to ensure that you will achieve your dreams and our dreams for our beloved Bangsamoro homeland,” he added.

He urged the athletes to harness their skills and seize the opportunities presented by the BARMMAA Meet to achieve both personal and collective dreams for the Bangsamoro homeland.

Emphasizing the government’s unwavering support for physical education and sports, he underscored the pivotal role of young Bangsamoro in realizing a stronger and more united region.

“I raised my hand and prayed to Allah to bless you all, and guide you as you compete Inshaallah and I look forward to seeing you proudly waving the Bangsamoro flag at the Palarong Pambansa. Mabuhay ang Bangsamoro student athletes.” said by Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister’s address resonated with attendees, inspiring them to strive for excellence not only in sports but also in their chosen fields, contributing to the proud narrative of Bangsamoro’s success. 

As the BARMMAA Meet unfolds, it serves not only as a showcase of athletic prowess but also as a beacon of hope for peace, unity, and mutual understanding in the region.
