Bangsamoro Chief Minister Ebrahim Commemorates Labor Day, Call for Unity and Progress

COTABATO CITY (May 01,2024) — In the observance of Labor Day, Chief Minister Ahod “Alhaj Murad” B. Ebrahim of the Bangsamoro Government expressed gratitude and recognition for the tireless efforts of the labor force in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and across the nation. The Chief Minister highlighted the indispensable role of hardworking Bangsamoro men and women in shaping working in the public and private sectors, which serve as the pillars of society.

Highlighting the significant contributions of Bangsamoro laborers to the economic growth and development of the region, Chief Minister Ebrahim emphasized the need to prioritize their health, welfare, and safety. He urged employers to uphold the dignity and well-being of their workers, urging against any actions that may jeopardize their lives or exploit their labor.

Acknowledging the challenges posed by natural phenomena such as the El Niño phenomenon, Chief Minister Ebrahim called for solidarity and assistance to mitigate its impacts on the labor force. He reiterated the Bangsamoro Government’s commitment to supporting and empowering workers, recognizing their vital role in advancing the region’s goals of unity, progress, and prosperity.

Amidst the trials and tribulations faced by the Bangsamoro people, the BARMM Chief Minister expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering dedication and sacrifices of every Bangsamoro laborer. He called for collective action and optimism to usher in a new era characterized by inclusivity, prosperity, and improved working conditions.


“Sa anumang hamon ng buhay, katuwang ng pamahalaang ito ang mga manggagawang Bangsamoro. Marami nang mga pagsubok ang nagdaan na nagpatibay sa ating pagtutulungan. Kaya, mula sa amin, taos puso kaming nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng kontribusyon ng lahat ng mga manggagawang Bangsamoro,” Chief Minister Ebrahim said in Filipino.

The message concluded with a salute to every Bangsamoro worker, underscoring their invaluable contributions and inviting them to join hands in building a brighter future for the Bangsamoro and the nation as a whole. With unity and determination, Ebrahim affirmed his commitment in realizing the vision of a united and progressive Bangsamoro, aligned with the “Bagong Pilipinas” — a broader perspective of strong Republic.
