UBJP SecGen Macacua calls for Ethical Political Engagement and Social Movement Building
COTABATO CITY (April 29,2024) — In a recent address to members of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP), Abdulraof A. Macacua, Governor of Maguindanao Del Norte and Secretary General of United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP), emphasized the party’s role as a vehicle for governance, leadership development, and social movement building within the Bangsamoro region.
He underscored the importance of ethical political engagement, urging party members to uphold Islamic principles in their actions and interactions. Governor Macacua further emphasized the need to refrain from character assassination and divisive tactics, reminding attendees that Muslims must heed the values of respect even in the realm of politics.
Highlighting the multifaceted purpose of political parties, the UBJP Secretary General outlined three key objectives: establishing effective governance, molding future leaders, and fostering social movements. He said the UBJP’s focus extends beyond mere electoral cycles, thus it has been advocating for continuous service to members and communities.
The Governor called for unity within the party, underscroing the importance of supporting party leaders and initiatives. He urged members to embrace constructive criticism with an open mind, viewing it as an opportunity for growth rather than a setback.
Addressing the role of social media, Governor Macacua urged members to use online platforms responsibly, promoting positivity and resilience in the face of criticism. He likened the process of criticism within the party to that of a company’s internal review, emphasizing the need for self-reflection and improvement.
