COTABATO CITY (April 29, 2024) — The United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) Vice President Mohagher M. Iqbal addressed a crowd during the inauguration of his office here on Sunday, marking a significant milestone in the party’s journey. He said that the event symbolizes the culmination of years of collective effort since the establishment of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party in 2013.
Expressing awareness of the heightened concerns among the people leading up to the 2025 parliamentary elections, UBJP Vice President for Central Mindanao Iqbal reassured the Bangsamoro people through UBJP’s unwavering commitment to their cause.
He underscored that the party, born out of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Bangsamoro people, remains dedicated to upholding the principles of justice as among of the party’s core principles.
UBJP Vice President Iqbal delineated the core principles of the UBJP, emphasizing moral governance, servant leadership, people’s empowerment, the principle of party loyalty and the UBJP’s transformation and reform in the Bangsamoro homeland.
“It is my hope as the Party Vice President of UBJP that our people will acquire a better, richer understanding of the UBJP’s work and the major force for change that it has come to represent to this happen, we need to engage everyone. It is whole and beyond in order to produce result that we proud of in the Bangsamoro homeland,” said UBJP Vice President.
Looking ahead to the 2025 elections, UBJP Vice President Iqbal framed the contest as a battle between the forces of change and the forces of the status quo. He asserted that embracing change is essential for driving social reform and addressing societal challenges effectively.
Quoting a classical thought on the importance of focusing energy on building the new rather than fighting the old, UBJP Vice President Iqbal urged a strategic approach in achieving objectives.
Additionally, Iqbal said that there is an ongoing discussions regarding the creation of a new province from the consolidation of 8 municipalities, demonstrating proactive steps towards regional development.
In his concluding statement, he highlighted the significance of the 2025 elections in the peace process and underscored the necessity of joint political efforts to achieve fundamental goals. He expressed a hope for a positive outcome and called for collective engagement to realize a better future for the Bangsamoro people.
