
ALS Teachers Participate in MBHTE-BALS Specialized Training

COTABATO CITY (July 14, 2025) — The Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE), through the Bureau for Alternative Learning System (BALS) under the Directorate General for Basic Education (DGBE), conducted a specialized training program for Alternative Learning System (ALS) teachers from June 9 to 12, 2025, at Bajada Suites OPC.
MBHTE said that the training aimed to enhance the 21st-century teaching competencies of educators from 10 School Division Offices (SDOs). It focused on strengthening ICT skills and integrating Gender and Development (GAD) principles into the ALS framework to promote inclusive, equitable, and empowering learning environments.
The program also laid the groundwork for a planned tracer study that will follow ALS program graduates to assess outcomes and identify areas that need continued support.
Key resource persons included Daud D. Kadon, Director of BALS; Prof. Ryl R. Ramos of MSU-Maguindanao; Aratoc M. Macarambon, Head of the ICT Unit-DGBE; Engr. Shoraya Jane M. Bagundang, IT Officer I, SDO Cotabato City; Doc. Bai Sheina B. Kusain, Teacher III and Head of Monitoring and Evaluation, concurrent GAD Focal Person; Camilo M. Bangcola; and Ahmad Aleef J. Pulong of the BALS Main Office.
