Ballot Printing for Bangsamoro Elections Begins Today – COMELEC

COTABATO CITY (August 28, 2025) – The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has announced that printing of ballots for the 2025 Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections officially begins today, following the approval from the National Bank (NBank) to proceed with all necessary preparations.
COMELEC Chairman George Erwin Garcia confirmed this development early Thursday morning, highlighting the urgency of initiating the process without further delay.
“We are prepared to defend our actions. If anyone wishes to question this, we are open to discussion. What matters is that we’ve started, as every day that passes is critical,” Garcia stated.
In addition to the commencement of ballot printing, COMELEC reiterated its firm stance against vote buying. Garcia warned that the Commission will not condone the commodification of people’s votes.
“We are ready to disqualify candidates and file criminal charges against anyone who engages in vote buying to distort the voice of the electorate,” he emphasized.
The Commission also reminded the public that strict enforcement of election laws starts at midnight. This includes operations against vote buying, anti-discrimination measures, deployments of election task forces, and the implementation of “baklas” operations (removal of campaign materials).
Seven political parties are set to compete for 40 parliamentary seats in the upcoming elections. Garcia urged all parties to conduct clean and orderly campaigns while complying with established rules and standards.(BMN/BangsamoroToday)
