Securing the Future of Bangsamoro Children: BARMM Launches Child Protection Roadmap

MARAWI CITY (August 12, 2025) — The Bangsamoro Government successfully launched the Child Protection System Strengthening (CPSS) Roadmap 2023–2035 on August 1, in this city. This initiative aims to safeguard the future of Bangsamoro children by enhancing child protection systems throughout the region.
Regional leaders, local government officials, development partners, and frontline workers gathered at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol Complex to demonstrate their unified support for the roadmap and the broader objective of creating a safer, more inclusive environment for children in BARMM.
Atty. Mohammad Muktadir Ahmad Estrella, Director General of the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), reaffirmed the regional government’s commitment to addressing the root causes of child vulnerability.
“No child should have to suffer just to survive,” Estrella emphasized, highlighting the importance of reforms that prioritize children’s welfare at the core of governance and development efforts.
The roadmap was launched as part of the Strengthening the Social Service Workforce and Other Actors for the Protection of Children in BARMM (SWAPC) project. This initiative is led by the MSSD in collaboration with Community and Family Services International (CFSI) and UNICEF, with support from the European Union.
This project underscores BARMM’s commitment to building a safe, inclusive, and rights-based future for every Bangsamoro child. (BMN/BangsamoroToday)
