MSSD Inspects Marantao Social Development Center, Proposed Provincial Office Site in Lanao del Sur A

COTABATO CITY (July 30, 2025) — As part of efforts to improve social welfare service delivery in the province, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) conducted a two-day inspection from July 28–29, 2025. The inspection covered the ongoing construction of a Social Development Center (SDC) in Marantao and a proposed site in Marawi City for a new permanent Provincial Operations Office.
Led by Engr. Romeo I. Livelo and the MSSD Engineering Unit, the team first visited Barangay Bacong, Marantao, where the SDC is currently under construction. The PHP 27.2 million facility will include a multi-purpose covered court and a latrine, designed to support various community programs. Once completed by November 2025, the center will host training sessions, recreational activities, psychosocial services, and can act as a temporary shelter during emergencies.
MSSD said that on the following day, the team visited a proposed site in Marawi City intended for the future Lanao del Sur A Provincial Operations Office. This facility will serve as a centralized hub for MSSD operations and public service delivery across the province.
Added to the report that delegation also visited the existing Provincial Social Welfare Office at the Provincial Capitol to discuss infrastructure priorities and assess current operational needs.
These initiatives reflect MSSD’s broader mission to expand its reach and improve access to social protection services throughout the Bangsamoro region by investing in sustainable, community-oriented infrastructure. (Tu Alid Alfonso, BMN/BangsamoroToday)
