BARMM Surpasses Investment Goal with ₱4.1 Billion in Approved Projects

COTABATO CITY (July 29, 2025) — The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has exceeded its 2025 investment target by 136.67%, reaching ₱4.1 billion in total approved investments, according to the Bangsamoro Board of Investments (BBOI).
The milestone was reached following the approval of two major projects worth over ₱800 million, focusing on agriculture—particularly the coconut industry in Maguindanao del Sur—and a mass housing development in Maguindanao del Norte. These initiatives are projected to generate at least 230 new jobs.
Earlier in April, the BBOI had already surpassed its ₱3-billion annual target with ₱3.2 billion in approvals. The latest additions, confirmed during a board deliberation in Davao City, brought the cumulative total to ₱4.1 billion as of July.
Chief Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua hailed the achievement as a sign of growing investor confidence. He pointed out that this development reflects the success of the Bangsamoro Economic Jihad—a peaceful struggle for uplifting lives through Moral Governance and sustainable development.
Finance Minister Atty. Ubaida Pacasem emphasized that the numbers reflect prudent fiscal management, while MTIT Minister Abuamri Taddik pointed to the improving business climate as key to attracting more investors.
BBOI Chairperson Mohamad Omar Pasigan credited the success to collaborative governance, stating that this is not just a BBOI win—it’s a win for the whole Bangsamoro. His agency said are committed to building an inclusive, competitive, and investor-friendly region.
The recent deliberation also saw active participation from BBOI Board Governors Datu Habib Ambolodto and Manan Baraguir, who helped assess and approve the new investments.
With its investment portfolio growing, BARMM aims to align all efforts with the Bangsamoro Development Plan to ensure that economic growth remains inclusive, transformative, and sustainable for the region. (Tu Alid Alfonso, BMN/BangsamoroToday)
