
Hundreds of BKIS Students Officially Join UNYPAD During Oath-taking Ceremony

BULUAN, MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR (July 28, 2025) — In a strong display of youth unity and Islamic commitment, hundreds of students from the Bangsamoro Kulliyyah of Islamic Studies (BKIS) joined the United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) during a Re-Orientation and Oath-Taking Program held Sunday at Brgy. Poblacion, Buluan.
The event was organized by UNYPAD Maguindanao Cluster-III Provincial Chapter and attended by BKIS faculty, UNYPAD officials, and newly inducted members. It aimed to deepen internal solidarity, reinforce Islamic values, and strengthen the role of youth in peacebuilding within the Bangsamoro region.
Masterfully hosted by Polo Sangki, BKIS Chapter Officer, the program began with an opening message by Taukan Salugongan, LPT, BKIS Faculty Member and UNYPAD Vice Chair for External Affairs. He emphasized the youth’s vital role in Islamic societal transformation.
Almoner S. Abdaho, LPT, BKIS School Registrar and UNYPAD Provincial Secretary, followed with a warm welcome, highlighting the organization’s growth. Pasigan Sapalon, UNYPAD Vice Chair for Internal Affairs, reminded the audience of the principles of sincerity, service, and brotherhood.
A spiritually uplifting Muhadarah Islamiyah was delivered by Shiekh Masha Salaban, discussing the religious significance of active participation in da’wah and Islamic organizations.
The highlight of the event was a comprehensive orientation led by Tu Alid Alfonso, LPT, UNYPAD National Vice President for Internal Affairs. He discussed the organization’s history, structure, programs and services, and ongoing involvement and contributions in the Bangsamoro peace process.
Words of wisdom, an open forum, and the formal oath-taking followed. New officers and members officially committed to serve the organization faithfully. Among the new appointees delivering acceptance messages were Sittie Musliha A. Lumambas, Norhaima Baningan, and Alarin Kamama, each expressing dedication to peace and development.
Closing messages were delivered by Engr. Morsid “Tilon” U. Guiapal and Junior Mentang, LPT, concluding the program with a prayer for unity and strength in continuing the mission of Islamic and community service. (Abu Salamat Hasim bin Musa, BMN/BangsamoroToday)
