COTABATO CITY (July 25, 2025) — The United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) has begun preparations for the historic first parliamentary elections of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), set for October 13, 2025.

UBJP President Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim led a meeting with several vice presidents of the party and its nominees to outline the party’s main strategies and steps for the elections.

As an initial step, UBJP said, the party conducted a review and analysis of the results from the previous National and Local Elections held in May. This analysis will help the UBJP formulate the goals and strategies for the upcoming elections.

Ebrahim emphasized the importance of careful and flexible planning. “Our strategy must be clear and well-organized. We cannot achieve our goals without thorough preparation. Adjustments may be necessary, so it’s vital that we are ready,” he stated.

UBJP Vice President Mohagher Iqbal urged members to approach the elections with seriousness and hard work, emphasizing that progress for the Bangsamoro depends on it.

“Kailangan magsikap tayo dahil ang election day hindi ito swerte-swerte. Hindi natin maisusulong nang mabuti any ating mga agenda para sa Bangsamoro kung hindi natin pag-iigihan,” said in Filipino.

Party representatives believe that through collective action, they can strengthen the representation of the Bangsamoro people and promote the UBJP’s advocacy in the region.

UBJP plans to mobilize its Central Party Committee, district representatives, and sectoral candidates in the lead-up to the polls, hoping to strengthen Bangsamoro representation and advance its advocacy in the region. (Tu Alid Alfonso, BMN/BangsamoroToday)
