Sabap Madaris Thanks Ulama Council, TWG for Key Role in Madaris Curriculum Development

ALABEL, SARANGANI (July 11, 2025) — The Sabap Madaris has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the Ulama Council, led by Shaykh Datulabi Kalunsiang, and the entire Technical Working Group (TWG) for their vital role in developing the Madaris Curriculum for Grades 1 to 6, Kapangagi Sarangani shared this development on Madaris education of the province on their Facebook page.
SABAP Madaris is a program under the Office of the Governor that supports the implementation of traditional Madrasah education in Sarangani.
Through thorough and careful review, the council and TWG evaluated existing curricula, particularly from Tarbiyyah and the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), to ensure that the final curriculum content is aligned with the needs of the local community, rooted in correct ʿAqīdah (Islamic creed), and suited to the capabilities of the Asātidhah (Islamic teachers).
Under their leadership, a Curriculum Harmonization Process was carried out, merging key subjects thoughtfully. This was followed by an Integrated Consolidation System, resulting in a curriculum that is complete, balanced, and meaningful. Despite changes and integration, the Manhaj At-Tibyān remains part of the curriculum in recognition of its value in teaching proper Qur’ān reading.
The Sabap Madaris commended the group’s dedication, time, and sincere service for the benefit of the youth and the Muslim communities of Sarangani. (Gandhi C. Kinjyo, BMN/BangsamoroToday)
