COTABATO CITY (June 12, 2025) — In celebration of National Day Care Workers’ Week and following the successful Child Development Summit held in Tawi-Tawi and Lanao del Sur, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) – Special Geographic Area conducted a Provincial Summit for Child Development Workers (CDWs) and Supervised Neighborhood Play (SNP) Workers on Wednesday at Ace Royale Hotel in Midsayap, North Cotabato.

During this event, 109 CDWs and SNP Workers from eight municipalities in the Special Geographic Area were recognized. CDWs also shared their experiences during the summit, and certificates of appreciation were distributed. Loyalty plaques were awarded to those who have served for ten years or more, and five outstanding Day Care Centers received plaques and ₱5,000 cash grants.

In his message of support, MSSD Bangsamoro Director-General Mohammad Muktadir Ahmad Estrella emphasized the vital role of CDWs in shaping the future of the Bangsamoro youth.

“Hindi maaaring maging kumpleto ang plano at sapat na pondo para sa mga daycare workers. Ito po ay panata ng MSSD dahil alam naming kayo po ang nagkakalunga at humuhubog sa bawat batang Bangsamoro tungo sa isang mas maliwanag na kinabukasan, (The plan and sufficient funding for daycare workers cannot be complete. This is a pledge of MSSD because we know that you are the ones who are working together and shaping every Bangsamoro child towards a brighter future),” said Estrella.

The Provincial Summit is part of MSSD’s ongoing efforts to recognize the contributions of early childhood care workers and to enhance their capabilities under the Bangsamoro government. (Tu Alid Alfonso, BMN/Bangsamoro Today)
