Bangsamoro Government Assists Flood-Affected Families in Datu Anggal Midtimbang, MDS

COTABATO CITY (May 22, 2025) — The Bangsamoro government through the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), spearhead by its Disaster Response and Management Division (DRMD) and the Maguindanao del Sur Provincial Office, coordinated with the Municipal Social Welfare Office (MSWO) of Datu Anggal Midtimbang to provide immediate relief assistance to families affected by flooding in Barangays Brar, Tulunan, and Nunangen on May 21, 2025.

Mssd said that a total of 231 families received family food packs that included 25 kilograms of rice, assorted canned goods, and instant coffee. The Ministry also distributed non-food items, such as sleeping kits, hygiene kits, and cooking kits, to meet the essential needs of the affected residents.

In addition, hot meals were served to 1,000 individuals as part of the Ministry’s emergency feeding initiative, it added.

“This emergency response was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the MSSD Regional and Provincial Offices, the MSWO, municipal and barangay local government units (LGUs), and dedicated community volunteers,” said in its social media post.
