MAFAR Minister Maslamama Supervises Seminar on Cash Management and Internal Control Systems

COTABATO CITY (April 19, 2025) — The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) successfully held a three-day seminar on cash management and internal control systems from April 14 to 16, at Davao City. The seminar was attended by personnel from the Cash Section of the Administrative and Finance Management Services (AFMS) and supervised by the newly appointed MAFAR Minister Abunawas L. Maslamama.

His presence underscored the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing financial management systems and ensuring the integrity of future financial transactions. In his message, Minister Maslamama expressed confidence in the direction of MAFAR’s financial operations and commended the efforts of AFMS in promoting institutional reforms.

MAFAR said that this capacity-building initiative aimed to enhance the skills of the Cash Section team in effectively managing public funds and government resources. It also sought to deepen their understanding of relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance and promote transparency and accountability in financial transactions.

The seminar included interactive sessions, practical workshops, and insightful lectures led by expert speakers from the Commission on Audit – BARMM. These sessions focused on strengthening internal controls and implementing best practices in cash management to minimize risks and improve operational efficiency within the Ministry.
