Board of Trustees Meeting Drives Progress for Bangsamoro Science High School System

COTABATO CITY (June 8, 2024) — The development of the Bangsamoro Science High School (BSHS) System progressed significantly as the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Board of Trustees (BOT) held their third meeting. This crucial session took place at the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE) Regional Office Conference Room in the Bangsamoro Government Center.

Prominent attendees included Minister Engr. Aida Silongan of MOST, MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal, Parliament member and Science and Technology Committee Chair Shuharto Ismael, Mindanao State University (MSU) System President Atty. Basari Mapupuno, Bangsamoro Mufti Sheik Abdulrauf Guialani, and additional members of the Technical Working Group (TWG).

Minister Silongan, leading the BOT, commenced the meeting by emphasizing the key issues on the agenda. ” We will discuss today our campus development plan highlighting the human resources staffing, creating the BSHS Contextualized Framework, reviewing the Campus Development Plan prepared by AC Ong, and discuss other significant matters” she remarked.

Nasrodin U. Buisan, RCh, Director II of MOST Technical Management and Operation Services, provided a comprehensive update on the previous meeting’s resolution and introduced new items. His presentation included details on human resources for the campus development plan, framework policies, infrastructure projects, and road clearance for the campuses.

The meeting wrapped up with discussion on scheduling the next BOT meeting and other pertinent issues. MOST and BOT members conveyed their confidence that their strategic initiatives would successfully bring the BSHS system to fruition, promoting educational growth in the Bangsamoro region. (Hasna U.
