BARMM Launches Campus Tour to Educate Students on 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan
COTABATO CITY (June 5, 2024) – The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) launched a regionwide campus tour as part of an information and dissemination drive for the 2nd Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) 2023-2028.
The event, designed to foster academic dialogue about the plan, took place at Cotabato State University (CotSU) in Cotabato City on May 29, 2024. It was attended by approximately 100 students, CotSU lecturers, representatives from the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), and development officers from the BARMM government.
Director General Engr. Mohajirin Ali, who led the undertaking, underscored the important role played by institutions of higher learning in the region’s development. “Campus tours are an effective way to personally communicate and understand the situation of schools in the Bangsamoro region,” Engr. Ali said.
“Education is a top priority for the BARMM government, as reflected in the agenda of BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, known as the 12-Point Priority Agenda,” he added.
Engr. Ali reiterated that they will provide infrastructure and resources, including teaching staff, in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE).
He added that the launching will be followed by continued campus tours across selected educational institutions within BARMM to wider coverage and greater involvement among the Bangsamoro youth. (Sahara A. Saban, BMN/Bangsamoro Today)
