MAFAR-SDF Provides Equipment for Farmers’ Cooperatives in Maguindanano
COTABATO CITY (May 30, 2024) — In a bid to boost agricultural productivity, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR-SDF), through its Special Development Fund, provided tractors and tools to selected farmers’ cooperatives in Maguindanao on May 22-24, 2024.
The program’s primary goal is to enhance the production capabilities of local farmers, thereby promoting socio-economic progress within their communities and contributing to the region’s development.
Among the beneficiaries are the Makinugon Farmers Producers Cooperative in Barangay Labungan, DOS, the Henco Marketing Cooperative in Barangay Tambunan II, Guindulungan, the Decommissioned Agri Business Marketing Cooperative in Shariff Aguak, and the Wal Workers Association in Barangay Tibuhol, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat.
Expressing gratitude, the cooperatives highlighted the transformative impact of this support. Johain Laba, President of Henco Marketing Cooperative, noted.
“Malaking tulong po ito sa amin na mga kooperatiba lalong-lalo na po sa aming mga miyembro at sa buong komunidad namin. Ito ay maaaring maging dahilan ng pag-angat naming lahat at maaaring maging simula ng tagumpay ng bawat isa, kaya maraming maraming salamat po talaga sa MAFAR,” Laba stated.
Roslainie Mamalaguia, SDF Program Officer, emphasized the initiative’s objective to optimize agricultural processes, increase yields, and drive socio-economic progress in the region. By providing these resources, MAFAR-SDF demonstrates its commitment to rural development and economic empowerment, fostering self-reliance and sustainable growth.
