Bangsamoro Region Launches BIDA Campaign to Combat Illegal Drugs

COTABATO CITY ( May 15, 2024) Launching a decisive move against the scourge of illegal drugs, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has joined forces with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to unveil the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) campaign. Scheduled for its grand debut on June 13, 2024, this initiative signifies a pivotal moment in BARMM’s ongoing efforts to eradicate the illegal drug trade within its borders.

Under the stewardship of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG), the BIDA campaign is poised to become a beacon of hope in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking. With robust support from BARMM, the campaign aims to engage communities actively in this important endeavor to address the problemon ilegal drugs.

One of the highlights of the BIDA campaign is the Digital Poster Making Contest, which invites talented residents of the Bangsamoro Region to unleash their creativity while conveying a powerful message of unity against illegal drugs. This contest serves as a testament to BARMM’s commitment to leveraging the arts as a tool for social change.

The BIDA campaign adopts a multi-pronged approach to address the complex challenges posed by illegal drugs. By fostering community participation, promoting education, enhancing enforcement measures, and offering rehabilitation services, BIDA endeavors to create a safer and drug-free environment for all residents of the Bangsamoro Region.

Through collaborative efforts and collective determination, MILG-BARMM, together with the active involvement of communities, seeks to make a tangible impact in the relentless battle against illegal drugs.
